Learning to Fly || Kurt, Sam and Artie
Artie gulped. This was the part that make the butterflies in his stomach grow savage. He was going to have to leave the ground and start to hover if he wanted to feel some sort of accomplishment. He had watched Sam soar up into the sky so easily, like a second nature. He felt a touch of jealousy, watching the blond boy hover above his and Kurts head. He squeezed his eyes closed, images of himself up in the air whizzing around his head. Artie was so focused on trying to see himself flying that he hadn’t felt his feet lift off the ground. He was about to say that he didn’t think he was ready for this when he opened his eyes and saw that he was at least four feet above ground, hovering on the spot. “Hey! Hey, look!” Artie cried, lookin all around at the ground beneath him. “Im doing it” he called again, letting his voice ring out in pride. He leaned in closer to the handle of his broom and began to go, slowly but surely, forwards and upwards towards Sam. He finally flew up beside him, wobbling slightly. “I can’t believe I did it!” he said, hesitantly releasing one of his hands from the broom and reached over to give Sam a highfive.
Kurt watched with a proud smile as Sam took off into the air, he was always such a great flier it was easy to get envious but he never did. He was glad that Sam was great at it and always supported him by going to his games and making posters for the team and what not. However he turned his eyes onto Artie as he saw him squeeze his eyes shut and start focusing on hardly on flying. Kurt gasped silently as he saw Artie float up into the air, he wanted to say something but he was scared it might cause him to fall back down to the ground. He smiled at him brightly before Artie opened his eyes and realized that he was flying.
Kurt watched as Artie flew up and gave Sam a high five, it brought a gigantic smile to his face and it was his turn now. He gripped onto the handle of the broom a bit tighter and tried to remember everything that Sam had taught him. He levitated slowly into the air, shaking around a bit before floating up to the level that Sam and Artie were on. He felt that at any moment he could fall off just from how much he was shaking from left to right. “A-Aah. Good job A-Artie!” Kurt stuttered out as his broom spun around a few times. There was a bright red blush on his face as he smiled at the other two males with embarrassment at his poor flying skills.
